I am very happy to announce that Lauren J. Kelly is joining Harmonica as Project Director, starting on March 1. She will be responsible for project management, operations and client support, testing and documentation, as well as UI specification and development.
Lauren is, like me, a jack-of-all-trades who's worked in many aspects of the software industry, from development to testing to documentation to support. She's been doing web development for more than ten years, and has extensive experience with many of the open-source content management systems I work with regularly. Her multidisciplinary approach means she can manage projects and processes end-to-end, augmenting clients' staff wherever necessary.
Lauren previously worked for Performance Systems Development, an environmental software company, where she handled internal systems support, the corporate web presence and storefront, process design, and other aspects of their development process.
Before that she was director of sales and marketing for FP Technologies, a database provider, and media coordinator for HoNeY, a non-profit group focused on maternal health care and home-birthing.
Lauren graduated from the University of Indiana at Bloomington with a degree in philosophy in 2001. Her interests include green living and sustainability, maternal health care activism, and the slow food movement. She was born and raised in Orange County, NY, and now lives in Ithaca, NY, with her husband and three children.
